Merlin was born in St George, Utah, back in the days when there wasn’t a hospital in Mesquite. He grew up on a dairy farm, helping his father and grandfather feed the baby calves, irrigate and cut the alfalfa, and doing the various other jobs associated with a large farming operation.
He attended school at Virgin Valley Elementary, Junior High, and High School, which was all one school. His mother taught him in the second grade. Many of his schoolmates from Kindergarten stayed the whole time through high school. He enjoyed band and student government. He was active in the Future Farmers of America, serving as Secretary for the Nevada Association.
Merlin attended college at BYU in Provo, Utah, Dixie Junior College in St George, and UNLV in Las Vegas. He graduated from Dixie with an Associates of Arts and from UNLV with a Bachelors of Administration with a Marketing emphasis. He worked on the farm during the summer and on breaks, and also was a timer for some of the local rodeos in town.
Merlin was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a youth in the troop sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which he is a member. He is an Eagle Scout. He served as a missionary for the church in Germany and Austria for 2 years, and still speaks German.
He is married to Victoria Julien, who grew up in Holbrook, Arizona (at the famous Wigwam Motel) and Roswell, New Mexico. They have 4 boys and 2 girls.
Merlin currently serves as a leader in the Boy Scouts. He is also on the local board of Dollar’s for Scholars, and is on the board of the Virgin Valley Historical Society.
He has had his real estate license since 1991. He has been mostly full time since 1997. He sold homes for Juliet Properties at Sunset Greens in Mesquite. Sunset Greens is built on some of the alfalfa fields from his parent’s farm. When Sunset Greens was completed, he sold homes at Coyote Willows. In 2009 he opened Desert Gold Realty with his co-owner Paula Short, one of his friends from school.

Cheryl hails from the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho area. She moved to Henderson in 2003. After 3-4 years living in the Las Vegas area, she migrated to Mesquite to start her career in real estate. Music has always been her first love - her husband of nearly 45 years is second. She has sang in a variety of different venues and at many events. She continues to get involved with music at every opportunity. Cheryl loves interacting with people. She has worked in customer service for many years with the airlines and with paper manufacturing companies and now in the real estate business. She loves to help people find that perfect home!

Jerry has owned property in Mesquite for over 10 years and has never experienced any regrets for moving here from the wet northwest. The people are friendly, the golfing is great, and the weather is very hard to beat! Being an active full-time real estate agent (Nevada) and broker (Arizona) has provided him with the ability to share his love of Mesquite with many hundreds of visitors and homebuyers.
Though Jerry’s main interest is Mesquite, he is also the Broker for Mohave Gold Realty – a real estate company serving the Arizona Strip from Beaver Dam to Scenic.
Jerry works with buyers and sellers alike, and to best serve his clients, he is a member of several real estate associations and MLS systems including the Beaver Dam MLS, the Las Vegas MLS, and the Mesquite MLS. He also writes a weekly article for the Desert Valley Times titled "Market Matters" – an article that focuses on the local real estate happenings.

Lynda Edwards was born in North Dakota and attended school in Minneapolis, where she married and raised and family. She also became a broker & owner of preferred properties for 13 years, and owned D.A.Edwards Builders and developed land and build residential homes.
She moved to Mesquite in 1994 and secured her broker/salesperson license and have worked in and watched Mesquite grow from 2000 residents to 19,000. She has been involved in many of the local organizations through the years including: Rotary Club, Exchange Club, Red Hats, Virgin Valley Family Services, and the Mesquite Ambassadors.
Her goal is to help her clients find and fulfill their dreams and needs.
